It's about 15 minutes into February here, so it's time to see what Rue read for the month of January. At the beginning of the month, I said that to be able to complete my reading goal for 2015, I needed to complete 6 to 7 books a month to complete this goal. Now, I knew when setting this goal that from mid Jan to first of May, I wouldn't be able to read a lot due to studying, but at my new job, I can now listen to books on audio, so I will hopefully get to stay on track. I know that will probably have some months that I will not read as much, so I am not stopping at 7 books a months. If I can do what I did in 2014 and up my goal, that would be amazing.
So how did January go for me? I was able to complete... 14 novels. Now the majority of them were completed by listening to them on audio book. Depending on the day and the length of the novel, I can finish a book a day at work, but most of the time it takes two to three days to finish them. This month I discovered two series this month (Crossfire Novels by Sylvia Day and The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison) with one of the series I have almost completed all the written novels, and the other one has 13 novels in it (I think), and I have read four of them this month and working on the other one.
Here is what I completed in January...
Eve and Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
The One by Kiera Cass. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.*
Bared to You by Sylvia Day. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars*
The White Princess by Philippa Gregory. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Reflected in You by Sylvia Day. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Entwined with you by Sylvia Day. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars*
The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I rated this book 3 out of 5 stars
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars
The Death Cure by James Dashner. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
The Good, the Bad, and The Undead by Kim Harrison. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Fistful of Charms by Kim Harrison. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison. I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars.
As always the books that have are in BOLD, I listened to on audio. The books that have stars(*) and are not bold, are books that I own and physically read. Books without stars or bold, are books that I have borrowed from my local library
Both the Crossfire Novels by Sylvia Day and The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison are adult fiction, and I would not suggest them for younger audience. I am going on 26 years old, but especially with the Crossfire Novels, I would not recommend it for younger than 18 years old.
The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison, I have book 1, 2, 4,and 5. I had to skip three because my local libraries did not have it. This is a series that I feel that I can do that with since I feel that I am caught up on what happened within the first few character. I just do not know in detail what happened. I do plan on going back to read the book that I skipped. I have already had to do this with book 6 as well, but I am going to complete it as well when I can get my hands on it.
With the Maze Runner Series, I marathon the series, listening to them back to back, and all I am going to say about the series, is I thought it got better as the series went on. I wasn't the biggest fan of the first novel.
For February....
Side note, February is my favorite month of the year.... My birthday is in February, and I will be turning 26 this year. I feel that I am officially an adult.
I could slack on reading in February since I am 7 books ahead on my reading goal, but I am not. I want to complete 6 to 7 books this month. I am currently listening to book 7 of The Hollows Series, and reading Captivated by You by Sylvia Day, which is book 4 of the Crossfire Novels. I am hoping that I can possibly finish The Hollows Series this month, but I am not sure. Also college is back in full swing, so I don't know how many books I will be able to complete. This semester I am only taking two classes, and there is a lot required for them, but I am only into the first full week, so I will not get a feel for reading until mid February.
I am planning on updating you all soon on my goals for 2015, which I think I am going to start doing monthly as well, but I am not sure when I will post it. I may wait until the middle of the month to post it.
Peaceful and Happy Thoughts,
--Rue.

Books Released in 2015
There are a few books that I am looking forward to that will be released later on in the year.
1. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare: This is the first novel of the Dark Artifices Series, which is set in LA institute. We were introduce to several of the characters in City of Heavenly Fire. I have not been able to find a release date, but I think it's going to be released sometime in the Fall. When I find a date, I will post it.
2. Winter by Marissa Meyer: This is the fourth book of the Lunar Chronicles. IT comes out in November of 2015, and I cannot wait to read this.
3. The Heir by Kiera Cass. It comes out May 5, 2015, and I cannot wait to pick it up. I thought The One was suppose to be the final, but glad it isn't. On a side not, I believe that their is another novella already out and another coming out soon.

2015 TBR
I typically do not write a TBR list from month to month due to the fact I do not like to be restricted on what I have to read, and a list makes me feel like that. I am however writing a small list of books that I want to complete by the end of the year. These books are either books that I have had on my bookshelf for a really long time or just wanted to read them for a long time.
--Rue
- The Lair by Emily McKay
- The Vault by Emily McKay
- Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Durst
- Unraveling by Elizabeth Morris
- Elixir by Hilary Duff
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
- Accidently Dead by Dakota Cassidy
- Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

Disappoints of 2014.
I have some books that I was disappointed with that I read in 2014 that I thought I would share with you all.
--Rue.
- Allegiant by Veronica Roth: Without giving away anything about the book, I cannot say why I really am disappointed in this novel. I did not like how the series ended, and I was left with the question of "Why?" I still love this series, and Roth's collection of short stories that was in Four's point of view is one of my favorite of the year, but this one wasn't. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
- Unsouled by Neal Shusterman: This is the third book to the Unwind Series. Unwind and UnWholly, the first two books, were wonderful, but this one is a different story. First it took me forever to get through. The real reason that I did not like this one, was that Shusterman was changing narrators so much. Two or Three is fine, but there were several. I would forget what happened with the person, and have to go back and review what happened. Also the Ads in the middle of the story go on my nerves. The final book of the series came out back in October, and I have checked it out at the library, but if it is like UnSouled I do not know if I will finish this series. I gave this one 2 out of 5 stars.
- City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare: I love the Mortal Instruments Series, and it's one of my favorite series. I did not, however, like this one of the series. It seems like it was a new series. It was told more for Simon's point of view. I gave this one 3 out of 5 stars.
- Dead Ever After By Charlaine Harris: This was the final of the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, the one True Blood was based on. I did not like the way this one ended. In reality, I thought that the 10th book of the series "Dead and Gone" was a better series ending novel than this one was. I think the reason is that Harris was only going to write 10 and then signed a contract for three more. (do not quote me on that). I really do like this series, and it's one of the only adult series that I have completed.
- To find out that "Coldest Girl In Cold Town" by Holly Black wasn't a series: I loved this novel. It is one of my top books of 2014, but when I found out that Holly Black wasn't going to be writing a sequel to this, I was sad. I was left wanting more from this world. I liked this novel this much. Please Holly Black write a sequel.

What Rue Read for December 2014.
I was able to in the month of December to finish and complete 8 novels. Back in November, I said that I wasn't sure how many I was going to be able to complete, but I was able to finish the novels I had started in November and 6 more.
1. Orange is the New Black by Piper Kierman 5 out of 5 stars
2. The White Queen by Philippa Gregory 5 out of 5 stars
3. Identical by Ellen Hopkins 5 out of 5 stars
4. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare 5 out of 5 stars *
5. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher 5 out of 5 stars
6. The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory 3 out of 5 stars
7. Little Vampire Women by Louisa May Alcott and Lynn Messina 4 out of 5 stars
8. The Silken Web by Sandra Brown 4 out of 5 stars
I listened to all but one of the books I completed in December. I discovered Play way(I think that is what it's called). It's like an MP3 player that had only one book on audio. I have been listening to books at work, and that is how I was able to finish so many in December. I can finish one book in a day at work, usually.
I wasn't able to read The One or Unite Me this month. I am currently reading The One by Kiera Cass and I am only about a quarter of the way through.
I am unsure what I will be able to complete in January, but I am planning on completing The One. If I do not want to get behind on my reading goal for 2015, I need to complete at least 6 or more books a month to be able to reach 75 by the end of 2015.

Reading Goals for 2015.
Here are the goals I have set for myself for 2015.
- Read\complete 75 books
- Read at least 15 books from my TBR bookshelf
- Finish at least 4 unfinished series
- Give Bloodlines Series by Richelle Mead another chance. I have read the first two and about a quarter of the third book and put it down.
- Read more from different genres besides Young Adult.
- Continue to read Harry Potter Series
- Read at least one classic
- Re-Read some of my favorite novels from when I was younger.
I am hoping to complete all of this like I did in 2014. If I cannot complete all of these, at least completing most of them.

2014. A Year of Books.
2014 is the year that I have read\completed more books than I have ever. Last year, I made 6 book goals for 2014, and I have accomplished all of these goals.
- Read 25 Books. If you have followed this blog for a while, then you know that I surpassed this goal back in the summer. So, I chose to up the goal to 50 back in June. I was able to back in September to surpass that goal. I have read or completed a total of 63 books. Here is a list of all the books I read in 2014. http://ruesbookworld.blogspot.com/p/bo.html
- Finish the Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare. I had started the Series last December, and at the beginning of 2014, I had only read "City of Bones." I completed the series with "City of Heavenly Fire" this month. I also completed the companion series The Infernal Devices Series with this as well.
- Finish Allegiant by Veronica Roth. This was the last book of the Divergent Series. I did not like the way this series ended.
- Finish Eve Series. I finished this series back during the summer and loved it.
- Read "Revealed" by PC and Kristin Cast. This is the next to last book in the House of Night Series.
- Start the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling. I was able to read the first in the series. This goal was not the one I accomplished a lot on, but hopefully next year I can continue reading this series.
I am hoping 2015, I can read even more. I will post my goals for 2015 on here soon.
Happy New Year!
Peaceful and Happy Thoughts,
--Rue.
